Design Shallow draft The vessel is designed in such a way that it is able to sail with a draft of only 1.65 m. Well powered The maximum total propulsion power which can be installed on board is 2,250 hp divided over 3 shaft lines. Fuel efficiency Due to the innovative hull shape and design features the vessel is very fuel efficient.

Damen Pusher Series Typical design aspect for the entire Damen Pusher range is the amount of propulsion power in combination with the limited draft. Project SHALLOW New markets are opening for shallow draught pusher barge convoys in developing countries. As a result "project SHALLOW" was initiated within Damen to develop series of ships specifically designed for shallow and confined waters. For this purpose design guidelines and tools are developed by conducting studies on the hydrodynamic effects of sailing on shallow and restricted waters. DUTCH MARITIME KNOWLEDGE All Damen vessels benefit from knowledge gathered during ongoing research programmes within the Group. Damen works alongside world-renowned research institutes such as Delft University of Technology, Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) and the Netherlands Organization of Applied Scientific Research (TNO), as well as other reputable universities and leading maritime companies.
